Evidence - Anal fistula, plastic closure with rectal mucosa advancement flap

  1. Literature summary

    The results have proven themselves in recent years, with a long-term recurrence rate of 20% to 40%, depending on selection and the percentage of Crohn patients. Immediate suture failure (persistent fistulization) has been reported in up to 30% of cases. Incontinence rates are around 20% for first and second-degree incontinence, while third degree incontinence is rare.
