Anatomy - Docking DaVinci step by step

  1. Introduction

The da Vinci Surgical System is a robotic-assisted surgical system that enables minimally invasive procedures with the highest precision and ergonomics. It consists of several functional units

  2. Surgeon's Console

    Soundsettings
    • Ergonomic seated workstation for the surgeon.
    • Two manually controlled hand grips (Master Controls) for precise movement transmission.
    • Multiple foot pedals for:
    • Camera switching,
    • Activation of energy instruments (monopolar/bipolar),
    • Switching between arms,
    • Control of zoom, focus, and coagulation.
    • 3D-HD visualization with up to 10x magnification.
  3. Patient Cart

    Patient Cart
    Soundsettings
    • Four robotic arms:
    • 1 camera arm,
    • 3 instrument arms.
    • Freely movable joints with 7 degrees of freedom.
    • Remote center at the level of the abdominal wall for gentle movements in the abdomen.
    • Target anatomy-controlled automatic alignment of the arms after camera docking.

Each robotic arm features the following controls:

    • Arm Control Button: Unlocks for free movement of the arm.
    • Instrument Release Button: Unlocks for changing the instrument.
    • Port Clutch Button: Allows repositioning of the arm in the trocar without affecting the internal instrument position.
    • Setup Joint Unlock Button: Enables manual adjustment of the arm angle to adapt the working area, e.g., to increase distance in confined spaces or unfavorable trocar angles.
  4. Vision Cart

    Vision Cart
