Complications - Salpingectomy, laparoscopic, robot-assisted laparoscopy (DaVinci)

Bleeding:

• Injury to major vessels (A. iliaca, V. cava, ovarian vessels)
• Diffuse bleeding in the surgical area

Injuries to adjacent organs:

• Intestine (small intestine, colon)
• Ureter
• Bladder

Anesthesia-related risks:

• Allergic reactions to medications
• Cardiovascular complications (e.g., arrhythmias)
• Aspiration pneumonia

CO₂ insufflation complications:

• Gas embolism
• Subcutaneous emphysema

Postoperative Bleeding:

• Hematoma formation

Infections:

• Wound infections
• Abscess formation in the abdominal cavity
• Peritonitis

Intestinal and Urinary Problems:

• Paralytic or mechanical ileus
• Dysuria or urinary retention due to bladder irritation or injury

Thrombosis and Embolism:

• Deep vein thrombosis
• Pulmonary embolism

Pain:

• Chronic pelvic pain
• Adhesions that can lead to pain and intestinal problems

Diaphragmatic irritation with shoulder pain

• Due to residual CO₂ gas after laparoscopy
• CO₂ gas irritates the diaphragm → radiating shoulder pain through the phrenic nerve
