Bleeding

From small vessels: Electrocautery or clips

From large hepatic vessels: Laparoscopic ultrasound with vascular Doppler capability, hemostasis with clips

Biliary leaks

Manage with clips or sutures

• Bleeding
• Biliary leaks, bilioma
• Intra-abdominal or wound infections
• Pleural effusion/pneumonia (postoperative ambulation and respiratory therapy)
• Ascites formation and leakage from the trocar sites (may require drains, fascial closure)
• Recurrent liver cyst (Indication: Symptomatic solitary cysts or symptomatic cysts in polycystic liver disease type I)
