The surgical treatment of condylomas as excision or local destruction procedures (removal using scissors, electrocoagulation, laser, and cryotherapy, excision using a scalpel) appears to deliver the best results with healing rates up to 94% and a recurrence rate after three months of about 29%. Electrocoagulation tends to provide better data than cryotherapy. It should be noted that these are epidermal tumors. The destruction of deeper skin layers does not offer an advantage regarding radicality and recurrence prophylaxis. However, it risks functionally unfavorable scar formation.
